The Big Show with Matt Perrault Wednesday, March 07, 2007 (256 reads)
In just 2 short years, Matt Perrault has transformed afternoon drives on The Mighty Big Sports 590 into THE place for sports fans in Omaha and beyond. The Big Show with Matt Perrault is the only 4 hour sports talk show in Nebraska and has callers and listeners in 8 different states. Featuring local and national guests, biting opinions, and entertaining discussions, The Big Show is one of the fastest growing sports talk shows in the country. In addition to the Big Show, Matt hosts pre and post game shows for both Nebraska Cornhusker Football and Creighton Bluejay Basketball.
Matt came to Omaha after a very successful run in Huntsville, Alabama where he hosted a top rated morning show for 4 years. He was also the play by play voice of the Huntsville Flight of the NBADL for 4 seasons. Before Alabama, Matt worked in Charlottesville, Virginia and Nashua, New Hampshire. In 1999, He graduated from UMass Amerst where he led his station to the A.P. Award for Best Sports Broadcasting College as Sports Director of his college station during his senior year. Tonight Show Host Jay Leno, Cop Drama Star Michael Chiklis and Matt are from the same town and went to the same high school in Andover, Ma. Jay even dated his aunt for a while.
Matt is a die hard Red Sox (Yankees Suck!) and Patriot (Colts Suck!) fan and is ashamed to admit that he also a fan of the Celtics (Lakers Suck!) and Bruins (Canadiens Suck!). For college, he still loves his Alma Mater UMass (UConn Sucks!) but also follows the Florida Gators (Note: follows, not a fan of - and oh, Tennessee Sucks!). Best Moment of Matt's life was in 2004 as the Red Sox finally won the World Series. 3 Super Bowls for the Pats was pretty cool too.
